Hello and welcome to the first square of my Winter Blanket CAL! I am so so excited to be able to bring this pattern to you all. We are starting out with the most complex of the squares – essentially ripping off the bandaid. I wanted to share this one first to give everyone time to get the hang of this square. The other two squares are much easier and beginner-friendly so they will work up a lot quicker.
Below I’ll go over all the information you’ll need for this first square such as the materials, gauge, and stitch abbreviations. There’s also a video tutorial on this pattern in addition to the written portion so you can learn and follow along whichever way you’re most comfortable.
Pin for later!

Blocking
Once done with your squares, block so they lay flat. I chose to wet block my squares but you can also opt to steam or spray block them. I will also cover more blocking details in the final installment of the CAL when we go over the finishing touches.
