Looking for a quick handmade valentine this year? This card is super cute and can be made in under 10 minutes! This also a great project for kids looking to make handmade cards this year and is a GREAT craft for the family while we all stay home more this year.

Materials:

  • Yarn: any yarn will work, you can also use yarn scraps from leftover projects. You only need a few feet of yarn for this.
  • Crochet hook: Use the size recommended for the weight of yarn you use. For a worsted weight 4 yarn, a size 5-6mm will work.
  • Scissors
  • Glue: To hold yarn in place on card.

Instructions:

Take your yarn and create a slip knot attaching the yarn to the hook.

Chain as many chains to create the desired length. To create a chain yarn over on the hook and pull through the loop on your hook. Repeat as many times as needed to reach desired length.

Once you have the length you want, cut the yarn and yarn over and pull through the loop on your hook one more time to create a knot. Pull the leftover yarn taut to secure it.

Cut the tail of yarn off the beginning and end of the chain.

Create the heart shape you want and lay it out on your paper or card. Once it’s in the shape you want, use your glue to secure it in that shape.

Once done, let the glue dry and decorate your card however you want!
